In July 2024, following Bishop Marcus' announcement about the selection of a new parish priest for our community, Fr Gerard Kearney was appointed as the parish priest for St Mary's, Knaresborough, and St Aelred's of Rievaulx..
Fr. Gerard previously held the position of parish priest at St. Jeanne Jugan, overseeing both St. Urban's and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches.
Fr Gerard is presently living at the presbytery of St Aelred’s, ministering to the parish alongside St Mary's of Knaresborough. He will be formally inducted as Parish Priest of St Aelred’s by Dean Fr Simon Bradbury on Wednesday, 27th November at 7pm, and at St Mary’s by Bishop Marcus on Sunday, 15th December during the 10:30am Mass.
